Cederhusen, Stockholm

The project is one of the biggest multi-storey residential projects made of wood in the world, comprising four individual buildings in the capital of Sweden which is currently under construction (2021). The project is situated in the inner city called “Hagastaden” and built upon a foundation that includes a road traffic tunnel. The building heights vary from seven to twelve stories with a structure of CLT containing in total 234 apartments over the four houses. Acouwood has been involved in the design since the beginning in 2017.

Currently, acoustic measurements have been performed for the first building which will be ready for the first owners in beginning of 2022, and the goal is fulfilled which in acoustic figures means: DnT,w+C50-3150 ≥ 52 dB and L´nT,w+CI,50-2500 ≤ 52 dB. One of our early missions was to predict the sound insulation and thereby provide detailed design of structural components and junctions in collaboration with the designers. Now, almost five years later we can see the result. The developer is “Folkhem Trä AB”, the Architect is “General Architecture”, and the building contractor is “Veidekke Entreprenad AB.”
